In their November report, the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) left the 2025/26 soybean acreage for the state unchanged at approximately 13 million hectares (32.1 million acres), which represents an increase of 1.67% compared to last year.

The average productivity of the crop is estimated at 60.45 sacks per hectare (54.0 bu/ac), which is down 8.81% compared to 2024/25. Soybean production for the 2025/26 growing season is estimated at 47.18 million tons, down more than 7% from the record 2024/25 crop.

Imea maintained its estimate of 7.39 million hectares of safrinha corn (18.2 million acres), which is up 1.83% compared to 2024/25. Corn production is estimated at 51.72 million tons, down 6.7% from last year due to expected lower yields compared to the record yields of 2024/25.

Cotton acreage in the state was maintained at 1.46 million hectares (3.6 million acres), a reduction of 5.65% compared to the record observed in 2024/25.
